The month of adventures part 1. Custom Festival and voluntary work in Resita + methods and techniques used 05/07-04/08/2019

I can surely say that this was the most amazing, wonderful and lifechanging period in my entire life.
Through joining many individual projects in 2 different countries, as well as the EVS training in Bucharest and the volunteering experience at Custom Fest in Resita I experienced a whole month full of positive and unique moments shared with many people from different countries, social and cultural backgrounds that made me realize so many things that I was not aware of them before.
I am going to talk about the festival, the on-arrival training, and the 2 other projects, what they were all about and my experience while being a part of them in more detail on this and the next post.

Custom Fest
During the first week, we were prepared and then given the chance to be volunteers at the one of a kind rock and metal festival in Resita called ''Custom Fest''.
It was a very amusing festival that took place on a hill near Resita called ''Stema'' which had an amazing sight from 5th to 7th of July.
In these days there were a lot of rock and metal bands that I enjoyed listening to and also some fun activities like beer pong.
Our tasks were to keep the place clean and pick up trash thrown from the crowd. But luckily, since the people from Romania are so well mannered, everyone was throwing their trash in the bags that we placed in different spots in the place. So we could enjoy the festival like everyone else and have fun.
At this festival, I met a lot of new interesting and friendly people that made my experience there one of a kind.
People were so nice, that I was constantly receiving food and drinks more than I could ever ask for.

Volunteering in Resita
Schools
Just after the festival, we started with our weekly schedule.
So from 8th to 11th July, I went to the elderly center, orphanage and the kindergarten where I did my usual work.

Methods and techniques
 Centrul Speranta

With the lovely children of this place, we did a lot of non-formal activities that included a lot of energizers, games, sportive games like basketball, football, and tennis, also creative drawings with a theme and arts and crafts by creating jewelry from macaroni and pasta, board games like jungle speed- their favorite one and etc.

Semenic Kindergarten
With the lovely children from this kindergarten we had to prepare a lot of amusing activities which involved a lot of engagement and movement also using the English language for association to teach them some words.
